Starting on January 7, 2025, Los Angeles has been battling multiple wildfires, notably the Palisades and Eaton fires. These devastating fires have led to the destruction of countless homes and inflicted significant damage on cultural landmarks, leaving many communities in dire need of assistance. In response, relief efforts have mobilized across the city, with countless individuals and organizations stepping forward to help. Among the dedicated volunteers at the forefront of these efforts are members of the Nirankari Oneness Center, who immediately jumped into action to support those affected.
Within just a day of the fires’ outbreak, Nirankari Oneness Center volunteers began gathering essential supplies to aid impacted families. Their swift response led to an immediate collection of food, clothing, hygiene items, and other necessary provisions. The volunteers then took their efforts directly into the heart of the affected communities, ensuring that donations reached those who needed them most.
On January 12, many Nirankari Oneness Center volunteers joined with DreamCenter, another established organization of LA, where they played a crucial role in managing the intake of donations, sorting supplies, assembling emergency kits, and distributing essentials like food, warm clothing, and hygiene products to displaced families. The atmosphere was one of both urgency and compassion, as people from all walks of life united to support those in need. Volunteers from the Nirankari Oneness Center stood out not only for their tireless dedication but also for their warm smiles and willingness to step up at every opportunity, reflecting their deep commitment to selfless service.
This effort has only grown in the days since. Recognizing the ongoing need for coordinated support, the Nirankari Oneness Center has now partnered with YMCA to establish their own distribution center. By gathering support from neighboring counties, they are ensuring that relief supplies continue to flow into the impacted regions, reaching a broader range of affected families.
At the core of this tireless service is the guiding philosophy of the Sant Nirankari Mission—the belief that we are all one family, bound by love, compassion, and a shared responsibility to uplift one another. It is this spirit of oneness and selfless service that drives the volunteers to dedicate their time, energy, and hearts to helping those in crisis. Their efforts stand as a testament to the Mission’s teachings: to see all as one, love all, care for all, and serve with humility.
As the devastation from the fires continue to impact lives, the Nirankari Oneness Center remains steadfast in its commitment to support those in need, proving that in the face of disaster, unity and compassion can bring hope and healing.
