Volunteering at Shelter Partnerships

Serving those in need is a priority for volunteers of Sant Nirankari Mission (SNM). It is a fulfilling feeling when selfless service brings smiles to hearts that may feel they have little to smile about. In an effort to light up smiles, the Mission’s Volunteers sorted, folded and packed over 1500 pieces of clothing for children, women and men at the Shelter Partnerships center in Bell, CA. This visit combined with previous visits allowed the Volunteers to contribute in helping with almost 5000 pieces of clothing.

Mission’s volunteers came early on a Saturday morning with smiles lit on their faces as well as they set out to spend half their day towards this kind task. The group of volunteers represented a spectrum of all ages, including children as young as 5, youth in their teens and twenties, mid-aged adults and seniors. All brought in great energy and enthusiasm.

They enjoyed the volunteer event and a few fun-filled challenges too when some complex pieces of clothing landed in their hands. SNM LA Center looks forward to continuing its teaming and services with Shelter Partnerships in their noble efforts.
