Saintly behavior

In the tweens classes at SNM we have learned saintly qualities such as patience, not being angry or losing temper, being kind, treating others with respect, never complaining, helping others, and staying in gratitude.

Our Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, who was love personified, has taught us how to live a saintly life by loving others, being kind, helping others, and putting others ahead of us.

A saintly person doesn’t get angry or loose temper. Even if others are mean, he is tolerant and forgiving toward all living entities. A saint’s behavior is always pleasing and never harsh.

My mom always says patience pays, we believe that what God has decided for us is the best for us, similarly parents decide the best for their children. For example when you really like a toy but your parents ask you to wait, then we must have patience as they know and wish best for their children. We should practice and exhibit these saintly qualities of showing patience and not throwing tantrums in these situations. I often see that with patience I get even better than my expectations.

Sangat also teaches us gratitude, we should always be grateful for what we have. There is a famous quote that states, “I was complaining that I did not have shoes until I saw someone without feet.” We often compare ourselves with our friends and complain that we don’t have cool toys or a big house like them,  but instead we should be thankful for what we have such as at least having a roof above our head and  a family who cares for us. We should be counting our blessings instead of complaining about what we don’t have. Being content with having something which is better than nothing.

These saintly qualities will make this earth a better place for everyone. By being part of this Mission, we have already gotten an honorary Sainthood.
